37 years

37 years 09/04/2009 Human ObservationsIn 1972 authorities turned away an opportunity to stop the criminal activities of the abductor of Jaycee Dugard; and again, neglected to remove this public nuisance from civilized society. This deviant drugged and repeatedly raped a 14 year old girl, but was not prosecuted because the “child” refused to endure the humiliation of a trial. So our law enforcement and judicial systems just set this deviant free to prey on others; and that is precisely what he did. This obvious pedophile was released into freedom, with no follow up scrutiny, by those who get paid to protect American citizens. So he later abducts a woman, transports her across state lines to Nevada, and rapes her repeatedly. He is incarcerated for the offense, but paroled, so that he could abduct Jaycee Lee Dugard, and enslave her; repeatedly raping her. After two years he is arrested for a parole violation, but his property is not searched, so Jaycee is left to another thirteen years of slavery. In 2006, neighbors complain to law enforcement about suspicious activity in this convicted sex offender’s backyard, but law enforcement does not thoroughly investigate, or even look inside of the backyard structures. Additionally, follow-up scrutiny of this deviant’s house and property is minimally performed by parole officers, pointing to the incompetency of the investigators or a blatant weakness in the parole system. Either way, Jaycee Lee Dugard remains in slavery for a total of 18 years before her horrendous ordeal comes to a close. These road signs on the 37 year course of this deviant’s criminal activity should serve as remarkable points of consideration in rethinking the methods of preventing further criminal activity of pedophiles. This new series of reforms, laws, or policies should carry the name of Jaycee Lee Dugard, so that the errors are never forgotten or overlooked again. If not implemented by individual states, then federal intervention is indicated. I don't want to hear any crap about states rights, when the all of the rights of Jaycee Lee Dugard were stolen from her for 18 years.
