The President of the United States of America will be speaking to our nation’s school children in two days, on 09/07/2009. Since the announcement of this event, there has been a very vocal response, by conservatives, against this historic opportunity to engage America’s youth in a productive dialog. The President presented a “lesson plan” to the children well in advance of address, in part, asking the children to consider what they thought would “help the President” to do his job better. Conservatives are ‘saying’ that this "might" advance Mr. Obama’s political agenda, or that he “might” speak to issues that do not support an individual parent’s personal beliefs. Let’s cut to the heart of the matter. Mr. Obama is the President of the United States of America, and the leader of our American government. A multitude of folks are offended, not by his mind or his intent, but by his colour. The racism that motivates the Republican Party blinds them to the productivity offered by this Black man. The greed and arrogance that has manipulated our social structure is jeopardized by this influx of racially even-handed Presidential authority. Racists are not receiving the preferential treatment to which they have grown accustomed; and are reacting with temper tantrums, the likes of which have never been seen before in American history. Rather than advancing any productive contributions to our President, these folks have chosen rather to abstain from governmental involvement, and to even keep their children out of school on the day of the President’s address to the children. They speak many words to justify their religious devotion to racism, but all of the words in language cannot hide the racial hatred that has infected their processes of thought. As for the “followers” of these bigots … those who do not seek The Truth, will believe “The Lie”. To the person whose opposition is not racially motivated, I present the following.
Put aside ALL generalities, “straw-dog” comparisons (look it up), and socio-political stereotypes … then consider the actual actions presented by our President. Have his actions been ACTUALLY harmful to you personally? Or have his solutions to the MASSIVE problems that he INHERITED from the previous administration simply met with your personal disagreement? If your response is: it’s not what has happened, it’s what COULD happen … grow up! He is the President of the USA, with ALL of the responsibility that accompanies HIS job. When you determine to take on HIS job, then run for the office as HE did. If you have alternative solutions to our American problems, don’t sit around sniveling, write them in a bill, and present it to your representatives. This is the American way. There will no longer be preferential treatment to the previously Caucasian majority; those days are done. The American idea of equality now resides in the White House. Become a part of the solution. Children are displaying more distinctively American behavior than their adult parents. The whole world is watching.
