Another Step

As the day begins, I ponder the workings of the Holy Spirit of God performing within me, and all about me, the things which make this day eventful. Most noteworthy was a presence of mind to see the little things that tend to illuminate the words and deeds of those about me. Being in the moment offers an ‘understand as I go’ kind of clarity, much needed in this moment of changeability.
The knowledge of God, and His redemptive activity amongst mortal humankind, carries with it a preoccupying wave of thought, ever-present amidst the many conversations and encounters of this little moment. There is such a depth of understanding in the R.A.M. of my conversation, yet the Holy Spirit provides specific wording in each conversation, to guide the listener towards that which glorifies the word of God. For instance, in a morning conversation, I wanted to speak of the work of living, God guiding a person through the trials of bad choices into the victories realized when the spirit of God is allowed to do the will of God in that person’s life. Yet, such understanding could be misinterpreted to suggest that people may do as they please because God will clear up the mess; no matter what. Untrue. While God allows us to err, He does not give us carte blanche to sin. Much the rather, He allows that which He can and will utilize, whether in knowledge or in deed, to glorify Himself. Therefore, whether to the saving of my soul, or someone else’s soul, or demonstration of His sovereignty … whatever the case may be, God alone determines the course of things that occur. Even when the enemy of God performs an act of clear evil, such can and is utilized to set apart the love and will of God so as to demonstrate the heart of God, that has never even imagined the ill will and wickedness performed by some of His creations. Even so, the times move towards an approaching moment when every rebellious mouth shall acknowledge the glorious sovereignty of God, and the lordship of Jesus, our Messiah.
