The Pass-Over

What a marvelous moment in time this is, to bring to my remembrance the mercy of God: when the angel of death Passed-Over the homes that displayed an innocent lamb’s blood painted on the doorways of God’s people; establishing the pattern of mercy that would be extended to those of us whose lives would be protected by the blood of an eternal Lamb that was spilled on my our behalf.  Just as, while they were prisoners of Egypt, innocent blood was accepted on Israel's behalf by the angel of death as belief in and obedience to the Word of God: so it was when mercy was extended to a prisoner of Rome, that a guilty robber was chosen to live, while our innocent Messiah was condemned to death.  God’s plan of redemption is established in the Law of Moses, which allows for a substitution for the sin of God's people, to be carried before God in His temple by the mortal high priest each year.   Yet, our High Priest which cannot die, presents His acceptable sacrifice once and for all of us; and even now, He sits at the right hand of our Heavenly Father.  His grace and blessings are unblocked by our offenses, and are as far from God as is east is from west.
