Christmas Eve

12/24/2010 Human Observations
I'm up early with the trash collectors today. In the mood to write. Listening to jazz while considering the conditions that occupy my thoughts. The trend in Europe is to raise taxes and tuition rates to bandage its wounded economy, North and South Korea stand at the precipice of civil war, Ivory Coast election results are ignored by the incumbent's refusal to accept his defeat, leaving death and torture in his wake, and the beat goes on between Israel and the ten surrounding antagonistic nations. I may be on vacation, but it would appear that the worldwide struggle to feed greed and the lust for power continues. How nice it would be if Mr. Roddenberry's dream were to materialize, where we no longer coveted monetary compensation for our efforts, but rather, with food, clothing, and shelter provided for all citizens, worked for the purpose of self betterment. Wealth would no longer be the prize of life, but rather would be replaced by achievement, gratification, and fulfillment. Oh what a very different world it would be.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all ... a good night:)
