Aftermath

02/23/2005
Arrangements have been made to place me in good standing with the union, my job, and Caesar. What remains is to stabilize my housing and living condition so as to establish a more secure corporate headquarters. From this base will flow the authorship for which I have so long sought. Whether Christian exposition or political commentary, sci-fi or mystery/romance ... my work requires a central and private place that offers a sanctuary for creativity. I seek my open door.
Now that the Southern California rains have subsided, it becomes more evident that multitudes are homeless, and in need of housing and hope. The streets are filled with the morning walkers, equipped with backpacks and bags, carrying that which they value the most. With no dry place to go, and very little (if any) money, they wonder the eyes of passers-by, seeking anything that will add increase to a life of deprivation. Reduced to a drink or a puff of something that will return feeling to a life void of anything civilized, the homeless fill the places previously reserved for frugal traveling tourists. Tourism is become an activity for the middle class, or even a date. The world been reduced to a place where the citizenry works to maintain the corporate systems. There is very little enjoyment of life; only time spent away from "the job". Our existence is but the fodder for corporate supremacy, pitting the ruthlessness of one giant against the out-tasking of another. The greater of them all is the corporate government which flexes its muscles daily to strengthen its grip on the mind of this planetary people. The industrial revolution has indeed enslaved the planet, compelling the indigenous to labour within the corporate structure; or perish. Those who have fallen through the cracks of poorly managed business ideas, now find themselves victims of the very system which they once applauded. And the numbers grow daily. You'd think someone would notice ... other than me, that is.
