The Cross

1 Corinthians 1:27
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1 Corinthians 1:  ¹⁷For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

 ¹⁸For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
 ¹⁹For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
I often find myself feeling inadequate to communicate to the well educated, that God who is the Creator of the ability to think, has communicated even to a guy like me, that He is one who imparts the understanding of the Cross of Jesus the Saviour of the world.  He, by His Spirit that was sent to us by His Son, enables us to comprehend the incompressible love that caused the all powerful heavenly sovereign to sacrifice His son; so that humankind could be saved from our lawbreaking offenses. Therefore to those who have ears to hear, the cross of Jesus speaks for itself.  We are saved by grace, not because of what we do … but rather because of what Jesus did on His cross.
