12/14/2009 Human Observations
There are some who consider it a light thing to openly display their familiarity with devious tactics by first infiltrating our confidence, then exploiting what they perceive to be weakness. By utilizing insufficient information, they depend upon what they know to obtain what they think they want. However, what they know is limited to what they are willing to learn; yet their ability to learn has been crippled by preconceived notions. They compare what they see to what they already know, rather than observing what they encounter as it is. That which is received was made available. How we respond to each opportunity is what defines and clarifies what manner of person we are. Recognizing an opportunity for theft or exploitation does not predispose a person to steal or exploit; it rather, provides an exercise in judgment. As it is when we exercise the muscles of the body, so it is when we exercise responsible judgment, adding the strength of wisdom to our growing minds. If we depend upon insufficient information, then we will arrive at an erroneous conclusion; but indeed a conclusion nonetheless. That which is begun in the heat of error will end in disappointment. Therefore, let us be guided, not by the hungers of the belly, but rather by the hand that points toward that which proves to be positive and productive.
