12/04/2009 Human Observations
How do we combat the corporate strategy that has reduced their workforce to give the appearance in increased productivity? We must illustrate the repercussions of over-working an employee. When initially hired, each employee was initially assigned a designated series of tasks that was believed to be a reasonable assignment. To increase the workload of an individual is to make UN-reasonable demands, contradicting and standing in opposition to the very business plan initially instituted by that business. The proof of this Un-reasonableness is the resultant increased stress levels of the employees. Such stress can, and generally do, lead to health difficulties that prove costly to the employee, and eventually, to the employer; in lost work hours due to illness, or even litigation. To deliberately stress an individual is a pre-meditated criminal offense, better known as “assault”. Let this be considered as a means to “inspire” businesses to hire a larger and more reasonably sized workforce.
