0/8/25/2009 Human Observations
A seven year old female died when she was swept out to sea by high turbulent waves on the Atlantic Seaboard. The general public was warned time and time again that Hurricane “Bill” would produce dangerous oceanside conditions. However, a New York family chose to ignore these warnings, traveling to the coast of Maine. A young life was lost due to this obvious negligence.
The adults of this family exercised, at best, poor judgment by intentionally visiting the beach during such a dangerous time. The incident illustrates the conditions created by this current moment in our American version of civilized development; or lack thereof. The stresses of living in this system of socio-economics are tremendous, where citizens must produce continual and large sums of money to pay for food, housing, clothing, utilities, and communications. In an attempt to relieve this stress, this family went to the beach, betting their lives on the hope of relief. The wager produced a loss.
Stress is a cumulative disease that eventually impacts and compromises human health and thought. This is fact. Yet, we continue to feed this system because we have bought into the philosophy of greed that fuels our planetary dysfunction. To cure the disease of greed, a clear and productive economic change is indicated.
There is obviously enough of everything to adequately supply our planetary population, food, housing, electricity and electronics, clothing and the ability to mass produce more. The only thing that prevents our population from receiving these ingredients for living is human greed. The disease of greed is the deadliest killer on the planet, and should be attacked with controlled aggression, and committed resolve. Our intelligent thoughts should be directed towards the solving of this problem with determinate immediacy, placing the value of human life over any and all economic or political ambitions.
