07/31/2009 Human Observations
The approach of Summer's end draws a more serious attentiveness to the economic and social repercussions of the coming flu season. Congress has neglected to provide a plan to insure millions of Americans, in spite of the current "off-season" Swine Flu Pandemic. What continues to go unnoticed is that this version of virus, that currently engulfs the entire planet, is not the worst of the family. Yet, there is a complacency concerning the casualties, both present and predicted, of the viral attack; as though a "thinning of the herd" viewpoint is acceptable. In their arrogance, they have shut the eyes of their mind to the might of this intrusive yet over-powering little bug. H1N1 has successfully distracted us from the approach of H1N5. One is the decoy, to misdirect our defenses; while the other is the invasion fleet.
